Worlds greatest shave pre shave photo!

So on Friday evening at beauteelicious beauty salon at 5:30pm I will be having all my hair shaved off!!!! So far I have raised $465 for the leukaemia foundation. There is still time to donate!!! Click to donate :) dig deep people!

Today 31 Australians received the news that they are living with blood cancer. In 2007 I lost my dear father after he battled for years with chronic lympocyctic leukaemia. This means everything to me. Your money will go towards supporting patients while they are being treated.

Worlds greatest shave!

So I have been wanting to participate in the worlds greatest shave for many years now. 2013 is my year.

I am extremely passionate about raising funds for the leukaemia foundation. It's a cause that sts very close to my heart. In 2007 my dear father passed away after a battle with CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukaemia) and I miss him Terribly.

I am currently raising money in the way of sponsors because this march I will be shaving my head as part of the leukaemia foundations worlds greatest shave!

You can sponsor me at

Below is a before picture of me and I will update with after shots once it has happened.

Little boys, broken bones and birth dates

Today is the first day of February 2013 already!! It was a big day. My cousin had her first baby this morning. People who know me know that I am a tad OCD with numbers. This kid has a pretty cool birthdate. 1/2/1213. I am THAT obsessed that during the middle of my VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section for those not familiar with pregnancy acronyms) when I realised what the date was. So I opted out of the VBAC and chose to finish up with another c-section! 9/9/09 is my child's birthdate! Pretty cool right?

Anyway, today, big day. My little fella had a cast removed from his broken little foot. Yay! He was able to have his first bath in 6 weeks today. We are very happy that he can now keep up with the other kiddies with out fear of hurting it further.

Hooray for bubble baths!! Not so much for mum getting snap happy.

Crochet Along

Recently I have joined Google+ and found several crochet communities. One in particular is called "crochet along". I personally love this concept. I enjoy making new things and really never stray too much from what I know already. Which is silly, right? I'm a beanie girl. Beanies are my thing. But thanks to this community I have found my passion and am ready to extend my skills and may even teach myself knitting.. But not just yet. Baby steps.

Any who, today being the 30th January (well at least it was last time I looked at the clock. Hello 2:02am) I worked my butt off to begin AND complete the January CAL (crochet along). It's called the "calm cowl" I will link you to the pattern on tomorrow. But for now here are some pictures of the cowl... And yours truly.

Be kind :-)

Crochet for charity

So I have been hard at work recently creating many crochet squares to donate to HANNAH'S FOUNDATION. The plan is for them to organise as many squares as they can and to sew them into blankets. These wonderful "memory blankets" will be auctioned later in 2013 with all proceeds going to HANNAH'S FOUNDATION.

I have made 11 squares so far. I am aiming for a contribution of 30+ squares. I have found most of my patterns on ravelry. My second favourite website.. Closely following pintrest!

Below are pictures of my squares. I will jump on my laptop tomorrow and add the links to the people who created the pattern. You must give credit where credit is due!

This is your basic granny square.

Same with this one

And this one I am having trouble finding the link to. I am pretty sure it was created by a very talented crochetville member though. And I am equally as sure that I found it on ravelry. Either way I will keep looking and post it when I find it.

This is the catherine wheel stitch. You can find video instructions on Youtube
This was one i winged. its based on some pics i have seen of a stained glass square. I didn't get it quite right and I am not entirely happy with it.. But meh..
